Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and it shapes a lot of local rhythm — storm prep becomes second nature, and flood zone awareness genuinely affects where and how people buy. Norfolk's status as the largest naval base in the world means military culture and Navy ship movements are part of the backdrop too, especially around events like Harborfest.
